Merit Badge University of Scouting – 3/28

MB University of Scouting is the Spring hotspot for Scouts to get pumped up for the Summer to come! Scouts can earn a merit badge (or two if you take a combo class!). Council Pinewood Derby – 3/29

The Illowa Council invites all scouts, volunteers, and family to their Annual Pinewood Derby. Cub Scouts can enter their car from their Pack derby, or build a new one for this race! There will be awards for various categories! Friends and family are also invited to race a car in our open division!

Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation (BALOO) – 4/10-11

BALOO training will help ALL Cub Scout parents and leaders to ‘BE PREPARED’ for camping
adventures in the great outdoors with Cubs. This program is specific to meet the needs of introducing
Cub Scout Leaders to the world of overnight camping. Scouting America requires that you have at least one
BALOO-trained adult on every Cub Scout den or pack overnight event regardless of whether it is a pack,
district or council event. This updated course provides BOTH the basic training as well as the Webelos
instruction and involves quality sessions to cover required material.

Intro to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) – 4/10-11

The Intro Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) course is an intensive overnight course with instruction and practice
in the outdoor skills that are important in Scouting. IOLS is the outdoor training required for Scoutmasters
and Assistant Scoutmasters to be position trained.

Shooting Experience – 4/11

Come out to Loud Thunder Scout Reservation for a day of Range and Target Activities! Participants will have the opportunity to choose from several Action Area Groups during both morning and afternoon sessions. Action Area Groups include benchrest rifle, shotgun, pellet rifle, tomahawks, shotguns, muzzleloading rifle, prone rifle, action archery, and cowboy action.

Wilderness First Aid & CPR/AED Training – 5/29-31

This class is designed to give you solid first aid skills in a wilderness setting. This course teaches first aid skills for extreme situations in which emergency care is delayed for long periods or self-evacuation is necessary. It includes injury prevention, proper advanced preparation, more advanced first aid techniques, and short-distance transfer and evacuation techniques.
