All are welcome for family fun!
This event is open to the public for kids in First through Fifth grades to enjoy archery and shooting sports, hayrack rides, a haunted cabin and more at Loud Thunder Scout Camp. You can pre-register online or walk-in on October 17.
While enjoying your adventure at Loud Thunder, you can also learn about Cub Scout and Packs in your area.
Who:
- All kids in grades 1-5 and their families
- All youth must be accompanied by a parent.

When: Saturday, October 17, 2026
- Session 1: 8AM – 11:30AM
- Session 2: 1PM – 4:30PM
Cost: $20 per person, youth and adults
- Only families with one or more youth registered as Cub Scouts are permitted to camp overnight.
- Registration is handled through an app called Tentaroo. An account is required, and your information is not used for anything other than this registration.

The Premier Fall Cub Scout Event!
HALT is Illowa Council’s largest Fall Cub Scout event at Camp Loud Thunder! Join us for games, activities, BB-Guns, slingshots, hayrack rides, camping, campsite decorating, campfire program, and lots more fun!

WHEN: October 17-19, 2025

SESSIONS:
- Session 1: Friday Camping & Saturday Activities
- Friday 4:00pm thru Saturday Noon
- Fees include dinner, breakfast, a collectible event patch, program supplies, and camping
- Session 2: Saturday Camping & Saturday Activities
- Saturday Noon thru Sunday 8:30am
- Fees include dinner, breakfast, a collectible event patch, program supplies, and camping
- Walk-Ins: Just coming for Saturday during the day (no meals or camping)
- Walk-In registration is from 7:00-8:00am on Saturday
- Walk-In attendees need to leave Camp by 4:30pm on Saturday
- Everyone attending HALT MUST present Scouting America Health Forms Part A & B
CAMPING INFORMATION:
- Cub Scouts MUST have a parent or legal guardian with them to camp overnight.
- Scouts who are camping MUST be pre-registered by October 14th at midnight.
- Camping is NOT an option for Walk-In registrations.
- BALOO Training is not required for HALT because it is a Family Camping event.
- One person in the family must be a Scout.
- If a friend comes with to camp overnight, the friend’s parent must also attend.

HALT Event Apparel
We’re excited to partner with Class B for this year’s event apparel!
Through the online store, there are LOADS of options for you to select from – T-shirts, Hoodies, Flannels, hats, and more!
Choose what you want, pay online, and then you can have the items delivered to your home or to the Council Office for distribution at the event.
Keep in mind that your apparel order is separate from your registration for the event. You’ll need to do both if you want to sign up and order apparel.
The apparel store closes on September 24, 2026, at midnight.
Cub Scout Registration Information
Online registration for this event closes on October 14, 2025, at midnight.
If you are camping, you must be pre-registered to camp by October 14th at midnight.
Before you begin registration, you’ll want to know:
- Registration type for each member of your party (Youth Scouter, Youth Non-Scouter, Adult Scouter, or Adult Non-Scouter)
- Names
- Camping (YES or NO)
- Emergency Contact Person (Name, Cell, Relationship)

Our new registration system, Black Pug, makes signing up easier than ever! Unlike our previous system, there are no unit accounts or login credentials required.
Your pack may choose whichever registration method works best:
- One leader registers the entire pack in a single transaction.
- Families register individually as guests—no account or login is needed, but they can create an account if they would like to.
Either option is perfectly acceptable. Simply choose the process that works best for your unit.
