Cub Scout Shooting Sports are always popular at District and Council events, and now you can get trained on how we emphasize safety and marksmanship development for youth under the direction of trained range personnel. Shooting Sports are a major highlight of a Cub Scout’s journey – helping them to learn these skills is highly gratifying!

Come learn the skills required for the safe and proper use of a shotgun in shooting moving targets at this NRA training! You’ll get both classroom and range time to hone your skills.

Troops wanting to do Climbing & Rappelling as part of the unit program must have at least one adult who has completed this training. Come learn the techniques that are within Scouting America’s guidelines and that are safe!

Join volunteers across the Kittan District as we celebrate the past years’ accomplishments of our District. We will gather at Asbury United Methodist Church at 5:30pm for a social time and will begin our program and dinner at 6:00pm. We will be recognizing the District Award of Merit recipients as well as numerous other awards.

Through this partnership, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Know2Protect (K2P), and Scouting America are taking a proactive approach to addressing the growing threat of cybercrime. Cub Scouts, their families, and their friends are welcome to join us for a Fishing Derby hosted by the Mesquakie District! Fishing is fun… but it’s even better with a friend and when there are prizes!

Scouts Read Sacred Texts Worldwide is an event to encourage youth to read their sacred texts in conjunction with the U.S. National Day of Prayer.

The event aligns with the values, principles, and spiritual aims of Scouting. It is intended for Scoutmasters, Cubmasters, Advisors, and other adult leaders seeking a simple, respectful way to support a Scout’s Duty to God.

Fishing is a prime reason for youth to join Cub Scouts, and over 2 million youth have earned the Fishing merit badge in Scouts BSA. This is a great opportunity to gain insightful knowledge about running a Scouting fishing program at the Council, District, or unit level.

Our theme this year is “Engineering Our Modern Cities.” Cub Scouts will enjoy themed activities focused on engineering and construction, with construction equipment and operators on site. We’ll also have Cub Scout favorites like fishing, range and target activities, and a rope bridge. Don’t miss it!

Helping Scouts hone their shotgun skills is a highly rewarding endeavor! If you have successfully completed the NRA Basic Shotgun Shooting Course and would like to continue your training and grow your experience, this course is for you!

Illowa Cub Scouts are invited to a Jurassic Journey themed dinosaur day camp at Scott County Park. Activities include shooting sports, crafts, and swimming, aimed at developing skills and team bonding. Registration fees include a shirt, patch, and program supplies. Forms and packed lunches are required.
