Do you know an exceptional Illowa Council Adult Volunteer? The Silver Beaver Award is a council-level award given by the Boy Scouts of America to adult leaders who have demonstrated exceptional service to the organization and the community.

The Elbert K. Fretwell Outstanding Educator Award is presented to those that improve students’ lives by proactively modeling and teaching Scouting values. The award may be presented to teachers, educational support staff, and school administrators who stand out from their professional peers in instilling Scouting Values for students.

The Council Duty to God Award was created to recognize registered Scouters who have demonstrated an exemplary history of transformational leadership in supporting and promoting the spiritual foundation of Scouting at the local Council level. It acknowledges the unswerving dedication to faith, fellowship, and service of those whose character embodies the moral principles and shared ideals of Scouting America.

Show off your Scout skills at this year’s Klondike! Scouts will brave the elements to develop patrol spirit and teamwork! Remember that this event will be cold and probably snowy… dress for the conditions and BE PREPARED.

The NRA Range Safety Officer program was developed in response to the demand for a nationally recognized range safety officer certification. NRA Range Safety Officers are the people who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.

Help us clear trails, remove deadfalls, clear timber, and stockpile wood for campfires and heating buildings! Operating a chain saw is inherently hazardous. Proper maintenance, personal protective equipment, and correct technique are critical components of safe chain saw operation. Potential injuries can be minimized by using proper personal protective equipment and safe operating procedures.

Troops wanting to do Climbing & Rappelling as part of the unit program must have at least one adult who has completed this training. Come learn the techniques that are within Scouting America’s guidelines and that are safe!

Time to team up with the Quad City Steamwheelers for Scout Night! Join us at the Vibrant Arena at The Mark for a night of arena football and FUN as the Steamwheelers take on the Jacksonville Sharks!

Our theme this year is “The Science of Flight.” Cub Scouts will enjoy themed activities focused on aviation – and we’ll even get to see a Med Force helicopter land on site! We’ll also have Cub Scout favorites like fishing, range and target activities, and a rope bridge. Don’t miss it!

Join Illowa Council and Crawford Brew Works for the Pintwood Derby! This is an adults only event where you can race a car, enjoy some local craft beer, and have a great time – all while supporting Scouts on a local level!

The Illowa Cub Scouts will host an INVENTION CONVENTION themed day camp at Singing Bird Lodge! The camp includes various activities for grades 1-5 and requires adult attendance for Tiger Scouts. Fees cover supplies, a t-shirt, and event patch. Forms and packing essentials are necessary.

Illowa Cub Scouts are invited to an INVENTION CONVENTION themed day camp at Scott County Park. Activities include shooting sports, crafts, and swimming, aimed at developing skills and team bonding. The Annual Scouting Clays Classic, set for August 16-17, 2024, supports over 4,000 youth and leaders in Scouting through events like shooting competitions, auctions, and dinners. This significant fundraiser, having raised $1 million to date, offers diverse participation options, from shooting teams to attending as a guest. Contact details and registration links are provided, with a special emphasis on a 3-Gun Drawing, where tickets are available for purchase to win firearms.

Wood Badge is an advanced, national leadership course open only to Scouting volunteers and professionals.

Scouters from Cub Scouting, Scouts BSA, Venturing, Sea Scouts, and Explorers, and district and council Scouters all are welcome and belong here. This course will help you better understand how all the Scouting programs tie together. It will provide you with many useful leadership tools to help enable our youth to have the best possible Scouting experience. There is no better time to attend a Wood Badge course and make a difference in your unit than when you are a Cub Scout Leader.
