About this Training

The Scouting America popcorn sale is a major fundraising event for Scout units (Packs, Troops, Crews) and local councils. It’s designed to help Scouts earn their way to pay for their Scouting adventures, activities, and equipment, while also teaching valuable life lessons about hard work and goal setting.

Key Aspects of the Popcorn Sale:
  • Fundraising Goals:
    • Support Local Scouting: Over 70% of the popcorn sale proceeds directly benefit local Scouting programs and units. This money helps fund essential activities like summer camps, camp maintenance, equipment, and advancement items.
    • Scout Earnings: Scouts can earn money towards their individual Scouting expenses, such as camp fees or gear. While individual scout accounts can be used, there are rules around how funds are distributed, typically emphasizing troop-wide benefits.

Topics Covered:

  • An overview of the Trail’s End Popcorn System
  • Tips and Tricks
  • Advice from seasoned kernels
  • Assistance placing your first unit order
