- And MORE!

- Meet new Scouts and build friendships
Your Pack will enjoy the familiarity of the Scouts in their unit while camping overnight. During the day they meet new Scouts and build new friendships as they are divided into dens by rank for the days’ activities. These dens will stay together for the program session and rotate to all stations together. All program stations incorporate age-progressive programming and will work on specific requirements for each rank level.
Can’t come as a pack? Scouts can also come with a parent or their family! Consider Cub Scout Resident Camp for your family’s summer vacation!
Get ready to step back in time—WAY back—to a world where colossal creatures roamed the Earth and adventure waits around every corner! At Camp Loud Thunder’s Jurassic Journeys, you’re not just learning about dinosaurs—you’re living the experience.
Dive like an Ichthyosaurus at the pool, fly down the zip line like a Pterosaur, and discover vegetation like a Diplodocus! Explore “prehistoric” trails, crack secret dino codes, and take field expeditions, all while completing Cub Scout advancements.
Whether you’re Team T. rex or a fan of the gentle giants like Brachiosaurus, this camp is your ticket to a prehistoric paradise full of thrilling discoveries, hands-on science, and epic fun.
So grab your gear, fire up your imagination, and prepare for a dino-mite week of roaring excitement. The past is calling… will you answer?

Financial Support - Camperships
Cub Scouts can earn their way to camp by raising funds through the Council’s Spring Fundraiser and Popcorn sales. For Illowa Council Scouts, we provide an additional discount for units that meet their Friends of Scouting goal. We also offer ‘camperships’ to qualifying Illowa Council Scouts. These ‘camperships’ are scholarships awarded to those who have special circumstances that might otherwise keep a Scout from attending camp. Please use the link below to fill out the digital form and submit prior the the deadline. Paper Campership applications will not be considered.
Camperships are non-transferrable and intended only for the participant.
Camperships must be submitted by the unit leader (not the parent) and the following information will be collected:
- Scout’s name, age, grade, years in Scouting, address
- Parent’s name and email address
- Number of people in household
- Number of family members attending camp
- Family gross annual income
